With 360 hp, the new hybrid is the most powerful Peugeot ever made.

Available for ordering from October and with deliveries scheduled only for the first half of next year, the new version of 508 developed by Peugeot Sport Engineered (PSE), the high performance electrical division of the French brand, is the most powerful ever in the manufacturer’s catalog. The hybrid module combines a 1.6 liter four-cylinder petrol engine and two electric motors, one at the front with 81.2 kW and the other mounted on the rear axle, charging 83 kW. Total output: 360 hp of power and 520 Nm of maximum torque.

The brand announces 5.2 seconds to meet 0 to 100 km/h and only 3 seconds to recover 80 to 120 km/h. The speed is limited to 250 km/h.

Responsible performance

The high performance versions of the Peugeot 508 will be available in both body variants, saloon and van, inaugurating the new philosophy that the French brand calls Neo-Performance, a concept that translates the perfect combination between sporting character and technology. At the same time, the new signature with a line of three Kryptonite claws refers to the new identity of Peugeot Sport, the luminous signature of the series models, inspired by the brand’s heritage, in the rear lights of the Peugeot 504 CoupĂ©.

In addition to the strongly racing image, the PSE sports versions feature variable depreciation optimization in three modes (Comfort/Hybrid/Sport), lower ground height, 24 mm wide track at the front and 12 mm at the rear, 380 mm diameter front brake discs and four-piston Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, mounted on 20-pin rims.

Total traction

With two electric motors, one for each axis, the 508 PSE has a 4WD mode for four driving wheels, to be added to five other driving programs, activated directly on the mode selector on the central console: Electric: for journeys in 100% electric mode and in total silence, with an autonomy of 42 km (according to the WLTP protocol), allowing access to the so-called green zones, in urban areas, and providing fast accelerations, thanks to the immediate reactivity of the electric motors from 0 to 140 km/h; Comfort: Hybrid: mode that automatically selects the thermal or electric propulsion, depending on the circumstances, optimizing consumption and Sport: maximum power of 360 hp for an optimized pleasure. This mode also acts on steering, damping, accelerator pedal mapping and digital engine coloring.

The thermal engine guarantees battery charge so that maximum power is always available, but external charging of the batteries is also possible in less than 7h in a standard household socket; 4h in a 16 amp reinforced socket and in less than 2h in a 32 amp Wall Box.
